Our Story
About ITS
The Institute for Technology and Society (ITS) is an independent, non-partisan and non-profit research institute dedicated to exploring the complex relationship between technology and society.
At ITS, we believe that technology is one of the most powerful forces shaping our world today, this force can transform the world for the better but we also recognize that new technologies can create new challenges and unintended negative consequences. For this reason, we are committed to open and transparent research, and we strive to engage with diverse perspectives and communities. We believe that a robust public dialogue about and education on the role of technology in society is essential for creating a future that works for everyone.
To make this happen we will bring together a team of interdisciplinary researchers with expertise from a wide range of fields, including computer science, sociology, psychology, law, economics, philosophy, and more. We will work closely with all stakeholders, ranging from policymakers, lawmakers, research institutes, academia, business sector, education, media, and private citizens.

Our team is composed of dedicated professionals with years of experience in their areas of expertise that bring to the table a dynamic mix of skills and competences.
Atdhe Lila
Executive Director
Atdhe is a lawyer by trade, and the managing partner at DigiLegals where he specializes in technology and business law and works with small to large companies from all over the world. Atdhe has 8 years of legal experience in different capacities, including working as a government official; data protection officer; trainer; researcher for local and foreign NGOs and an expert consultant on various projects from procurement to telecom.

Lirim Bllaca
Operations Director
Lirim is a business executive in the ICT training and certification industry. He brings to the team a deep knowledge of ISO management systems and their application in various industries. Lirim has over ten years of military experience, serving in leadership and various staff positions. Having led several school accreditation projects, Lirim is our expert in the design, establishment and improvement of our training and education programs.

Adison Gara
Research Director
Adison is a business development director in the ICT training and certification industry with extensive leadership experience from his 10 years of military service. He brings a deep understanding of privacy regulations, research, and ISO management systems in the field of information security and business continuity. He has served as a Senior Officer at the Office of the PM of Kosovo and at the Information and Privacy Agency.
